- 1Start with a very small amount (1/4 teaspoon) and wait 2-3 days before offering a full portion. Watch for signs of allergic reaction.
- 2Peel and dice the carrot into small pieces. Steam for 10-12 minutes until very soft.
- 3Cook shelled edamame in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until tender. Drain.
- 4Blend the carrot and edamame together with a splash of water until very smooth.
- 5Let cool to a safe temperature. Serve warm. Start with a very small portion.

Homemade purees of spinach, beets, and carrots may contain high nitrate levels for babies under 6 months. Commercial baby food is tested for safe nitrate levels.
