- 1Peel and dice one medium potato and boil or steam until very soft, about 15 minutes.
- 2Meanwhile, place a small fillet of haddock (about 80g) in a pan with a little water and poach gently for 5-6 minutes.
- 3Remove the fish and carefully check for any bones, then flake the flesh.
- 4Mash the potato with a splash of milk or cooking water, then fold in the flaked fish.
- 5Mix well to a chunky mash consistency and serve once cooled.

Carefully check all fish for bones before serving to infants and young children. Even "boneless" fillets may contain small pin bones.
