Soft pan-fried patties made with lentils, carrots, and oats. A protein and iron-rich finger food that toddlers love to self-feed.

Ingredients

Red Lentils1/2 cup
Carrot1 small
Oats1/4 cup
Cuminpinch
Olive Oil1 tsp

Instructions

  1. 1Cook 1/2 cup red lentils in water until very soft, then drain excess liquid.
  2. 2Grate one small carrot and mix with the cooked lentils, 1/4 cup oats, and a pinch of cumin.
  3. 3Mash the mixture together and form into small, flat patties.
  4. 4Heat a little olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. 5Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and firm.
  6. 6Let cool before serving to your toddler.

Safety Notes

Choking Hazard: Hard Foods

Raw carrots, raw apple chunks, whole nuts, and other hard foods must be cooked until soft or finely ground for infants and toddlers.
